(ASRH&R)

Objectives

To promote positive behavior among in and out of school adolescents with regard to ASRH. The project is currently implemented in the 2 districts of Nyarugenge and Gicumbi. It is using health centers, school clubs and youth organizations as agents of change.

Initiated in 2010 with the support of IntraHealth International, phase I of ASRH & R was a one-year initiative aiming to mobilize stakeholders and test the project model in 6 schools each linked to 6 health centers in the 2 mentioned districts. This model was based on using peer education and increasing availability and accessibility of youth friendly services for safer sexual behavior.

Phase II started in 2011 with funding from Packard Foundation and focused on strengthening youth-friendly ASRH services in health centers and enhancing the capacity of schools and youth organizations to promote healthy sexual behavior among in and
out of school adolescents.
